Olympic champion Isaquias Queiroz won, this Saturday (12) in Lagoa Santa (Minas Gerais), the gold medal of the C1 1000 meters race of the Brazil Cup of Canoeing Speed. After the victory, the Bahian stated that he took advantage of the competition to perform some tests.
“Thank God I was able to do a good proof. I tried to paddle the best possible, because I am taking advantage of the competition to do some vessel tests, to see how the boat movement, the navigation, the speed performance. So it is being good to do these tests. Then you go to the World Cup better,” he told the Brazilian Canoeing Confederation.
Isaquias won a silver at the Paris Games (2024), precisely at C1 1000 meters, as well as a gold in Tokyo (2020) and two more silver and one bronze won at the Rio de Janeiro -based games (2016).
The Brazil Cup will be part of the events that will define the national ranking of canoeing speed, as well as being used as a control for the definition of Brazil’s national teams in the sport.
