ISA, through ISA CTEEP, the largest private energy transmission company in Brazil, won two of the 13 lots awarded in a public auction held by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) in São Paulo. With these new projects, ISA continues to consolidate its participation in the Brazilian electricity market, the largest in Latin America, generating progress and development for the country’s inhabitants.

The awarded works have an investment estimated by ANEEL in excess of US$780 million and comprise 1,139 km of transmission lines with a Permitted Annual Income (RAP) of US$ 60 million. These revenues represent more than a third of the total revenue awarded to ISA CTEEP in public tenders in the last 5 years.
Lot 3, located in the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, consists of the execution of 1,139 km of transmission lines, two new substations and six expansions with an estimated investment of US$730 million. Through this project, renewable energies will be transported, which contributes to the decarbonization of the country’s energy matrix.

Lot 6 has an estimated investment of US$50 million by ANEEL and consists of the construction of a new patio in the Agua Azul substation, located in the state of Sao Paulo. The projects will be financed directly by ISA CTEEP, both with its own resources and with debt operations in Brazil.
“Brazil is a relevant market in the region and in constant growth, which represents interesting business opportunities for ISA in the Energy Transmission sector. We always seek our participation in those where we believe we can be competitive and generate adequate levels of profitability for our shareholders, but also contribute to the progress and development of its citizens.”, said Juan Emilio Posada, president of ISA.

In recent years, ISA CTEEP has won 16 lots in transmission auctions held by ANEEL, totaling an investment foreseen by the regulator of US$1.9 billion.
With a team of around 1,300 employees, ISA CTEEP is present in 17 states in Brazil, operating a complex transmission network through which 30% of all the electricity transmitted in the country travels and 92% in the State of São Paulo. Its electrical system comprises more than 21,000 kilometers of transmission lines and 137 substations (assets both in operation and under construction).
