Quiteños have a day of rest for the festivities of the 487 years of the Spanish founding of the capital.
On Monday, December 6, 2021, at Quito there will be holiday about the 487 years of the Foundation Spanish of the capital.
This is a holiday local, so the rest applies only to those who live in the capital. The activities will resume on December 7, 2021. In the rest of the country, classes and work will be returned (after the weekend) on Monday 6, but in Quito it will be on Tuesday (December 7).

Mobility
On Quito applies the norm of vehicular mobility known as’Peak and Plate‘. However, on weekends and holidays does not govern. So on Saturday 4, Sunday 5 and Monday 6 December there will be free mobility of vehicles in the capital.
Next holiday
The last holiday of this 2021 will be for Christmas on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 December. These days off are not recoverable (you should not work later in exchange for them). In New Years there will be no days off, since December 31 falls on a Friday and workers will return to work on January 3, 2022.
