Are November 1 and 2 official rest days?
In accordance with article 74 of the Federal Labor Law, these dates are not considered holidays.
The official holidays on which work is not carried out are:
- The first Monday of February in commemoration of February 5 (Promulgation of the Constitution).
- The third Monday of March in commemoration of March 21 (Benito Juárez’s Birthday).
- May 1 (Labor Day).
- 16th of September is the independence day of Mexico).
- The third Monday of November in commemoration of November 20 (Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution).
- December 25.
- The one determined by the federal and local electoral laws, in the case of ordinary elections, to carry out the electoral day.
How do you pay on November 1 and 2?
Because November 1 and 2 are not considered holidays, they do not fall under the double salary payment scheme, so workers who work on those days will not receive an additional payment.
What does the SEP calendar say?
The 2022-2023 calendar of the Ministry of Public Education which directs the public and private schools of preschool, primary and secondary education incorporated into the system, on Wednesday, November 2 there will be no classes due to the commemoration of the Day of the Dead.
