When expanding the schedule only for this procedure, attention is optimized and congestion is avoided in other services during regular operating hours.

“To date, a total of 567,619 identity documents are pending for being claimed in the different venues of the registry at the national level. Of these, 192,955 are identity cards and 374,664 are citizenship cards”the agency said.

The places of the country where the greatest number of identity documents to claim are concentrated are: Antioquia (80,716), Bogotá (73,564), Valle del Cauca (55,269), Atlantic (35,282), Cundinamarca (27,779), Bolivar (27,150) and La Guajira (21,763).

On the other hand, a special invitation was also sent to young people between 14 and 28 years to approach the headquarters where they carried out the procedure and withdraw their identity document, so that they can participate in the elections of the municipal and local youth councils.

It should be noted that the only documents accepted to vote on October 19 are the identity card, the yellow card with holograms or digital (either in physical format or from the cell phone) and the password corresponding to the citizenship card for the first time.
