Officials from the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB), together with specialists from the Ministry of Petroleum and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, have begun investigations into multi-offensive crimes against companies that manufacture and import low-quality lubricants.
A statement posted on PNB networks specifies that among the companies under investigation are Lubricantes Valvec IC A. and Oropal CA, both located in the state of Aragua.
These companies, along with others, have been accused of operating without the corresponding permits and of using irregular raw materials in the manufacture of lubricants.
In a forensic technical inspection, carried out together with experts in Refining and Domestic Market from the Ministry of Petroleum, samples were collected that showed serious irregularities in the manufacture of lubricants and the conditions of the facilities, which do not comply with the requirements established by current regulations, says the PNB statement.
According to an analysis by the Venezuelan Petroleum Technology Institute (Intevec), these products do not meet national standards, causing irreparable damage to engines and machinery. So far, investigations have identified 40 companies operating illegally in this activity.
“The population is urged to purchase lubricants only from companies authorized by the competent authorities. In addition, citizens are urged to report any related irregularities to the CPNB offices, in Caracas or at the national level, to help stop these criminal acts that harm both the economic assets and the safety of consumers,” the statement concludes.
