The Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) ended October with inflation of 0.69%. The result is higher than that of September: 0.02%. The information was released today (1st), in Rio de Janeiro, by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
Among the main factors responsible for the increase from one month to the other is the group of food expenses, which had registered deflation (price fall) of 0.29% in September and which started to have inflation of 0.74% in October.

Four groups had an increase in inflation: housing (from 0.40% in September to 0.58% in October), clothing (from 0.38% to 0.73%), health and personal care (from 0.59 % to 0.85%) and miscellaneous expenses (from 0.04% to 0.19%).
The item transport continued with deflation, but the fall in prices was smaller because it went from -2.63% to -0.19%.
Two groups had a drop: education, reading and recreation (from 4.36% to 3.07%) and communication, whose deflation was accentuated, going from -0.52% to -0.73%).
