IPC-S has inflation in seven capitals surveyed by FGV

The Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) had inflation in the seven capitals surveyed in October by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). In all locations, there was an increase compared to September.IPC-S has inflation in seven capitals surveyed by FGV

The biggest increase occurred in Recife (1.30 percentage points (pp), changing from 0.37% in September to 1.67% in October). In Porto Alegre, there was a rise of one pp, as it moved from a deflation (price drop) of 0.29% in September to an inflation of 0.29% in the following month.

Other cities that had deflation in September and inflation in October were Belo Horizonte (up 0.39 pp, going from -0.02% to 0.37%) and São Paulo (up 0.63 pp. From -0, 08% to 0.55%).

In the other cities, inflation showed the following increases: Brasília (0.84 pp, changing from 0.20% to 1.04%), Rio de Janeiro (0.43 percentage point. It went from 0.19% to 0, 62%) and Salvador (0.20 percentage point, up from 0.33% to 0.53%).

The national average of the IPC-S, released last Tuesday (1st), rose from 0.02% in September to 0.69% in October.
