A total of B/. 150,723.00, were raised through the “Auction for Life” 2022 project organized for the third consecutive year by the Office of the First Lady and the Association for Charitable Works (APROB) for the benefit of the National Oncology Institute.

With this figure, the project broke the collection record, compared to previous editions; for example, in 2021 they managed to collect B/. 104,135.00 and in 2020 the sum was B/. 76,318.00.

The organizers highlighted that 50% of the amount raised corresponds to the artist and the other 50% will be used to support the National Oncology Institute (ION), which this year will focus its project to develop on the qualification of two additional rooms, fully equipped, for the Intensive Care Unit.

Currently the institute has six rooms, which are used to serve 450 patients per year. Thanks to the donation obtained through the auction, it will be possible to serve more than 100 additional patients.

“Thanks to the sponsoring companies and entities, of course also to the wonderful artists who delighted us with their art and talent, as well as all those generous buyers who participated in Auction for Life. A very special project for the Office of the First Lady, not only for its purpose, but also because it is for the benefit of an entity as noble as the National Oncology Institute, which represents hope for thousands of Panamanians,” he commented.
