The company JM Health and Beauty Colombia SAS d is at the center of a controversy after the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) made a call to the national population of discontinue consumption of their products Novafor, Novacollagen and Novafib and report if they know the places “where they are produced, packaged, distributed or marketed“.
According to Invima, the products claim to have “health, preventive, curative and/or therapeutic properties“, which violates articles 272 and 274 of Law 9 of 1979, which consist of referring to medicinal properties that may give false assessments about the true nature of the product, as well as violates articles 4 and 5 of resolution 5109 of 2005, regarding the information provided on the label of the products.
In addition to the fact, since March 10, a video began to circulate through social networks in which the owner of this companyJose Millan, while verbally assaulted his employees.

The “powdered and/or granulated food based on pea protein“As detailed by Invima, it was marketed through social networks, exactly under the name of @jm_saludybellezacol and on Facebook, with the profile creation date of June 19, 2021.
In addition, the entity pointed out a series of recommendations for the community, among which is: “Refrain from acquiring the referenced products, suspend their consumption (if they already have it), inform in case of having indications of where there are more reserves of these and constantly check your Web page” to be aware of other alerts.

Also, a call was made to the health authorities of the national territory to join the search for these products, share the alert in their communication channels and inspect the potential establishments for the sale of Novafor, Novacollagen and Novafib.
