Invías and Findeter sign a contract to transform road corridors in Cauca

The Government and the Vice Presidency announced that, through the National Highway Institute (Invías) and the Territorial Development Bank (Findeter), signed a contract for $74,657 million to develop works in the department of Cauca under the Popular Public Alliances model.

This agreement seeks to promote regional development by improving road infrastructure, considered key to economic growth and territorial integration.

The general director of Invías, Juan Carlos Montenegro Arjona, reported that the contract includes the improvement of the El Plateado – Argelia and Timba – Suárez road corridors, with the aim of improving the connectivity of communities and facilitating the exchange of goods and services.

According to the official, these works will address a historical need of the communities of Cauca. The infrastructure includes the improvement and rehabilitation of strategic roads that will allow more efficient access to production centers and will favor the commercialization of products, goods and services.

Besides, They seek to establish a more agile connection with neighboring departments and reduce transportation costs for both cargo and passengers. These improvements are essential to boost local economies, especially in regions that depend on agricultural and small industry activities for their livelihood.

The intervention will benefit a population of around 74,684 inhabitants in the west of the country and will generate approximately 1,850 direct and indirect jobs. The works will include the participation of local labor, thus promoting the social and economic development of the communities involved.

This project has the financial support of Invías and the technical assistance of Findeter, which will be responsible for the execution of the works. The participation of the second entity will guarantee that the interventions are carried out with the highest technical standards and within the established deadlines.
