The investors, mostly medical doctors, warned during a press conference that they will proceed legally, if necessary, if they are not compensated.
Sandra Martinez, one of the investors, explained that each one of the doctors acquired a package of five shares with a value, each one, of RD$750 thousand. Additionally, he explained that they bought clinics for a value ranging from RD$75,000 to RD$93,000 per square meter of construction.
He assured that the agreement was to grant half of the money at the beginning of the project, in 2013, and the rest when the work was completed, in an estimated time of five years.
“To date, the only thing we have is that there are negotiations with the Government for its sale,” said Martínez.
According to what he said, no one has approached them to explain what participation they will have in the negotiations.
Angelina Trinidad, another of the investors, said that many are still paying interest on the loans they made to be part of the project. Meanwhile, he indicated that others put their family assets to invest in the health center.
During the meeting with members of the media, held in a restaurant in Santiagoparticipated the president of the Dominican Medical Association (CMD), Senén Caba, who urged the majority investor, who is leading the negotiations with the health authorities, to deliver the money invested, as well as the resources that the doctors have had to pay for loan interest.

“It is important that each doctor who invested their money there is indexed,” Caba stressed.
