The Chiriquí Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that it is reinforcing the investigation team to increase capacities, in order to clarify the motive and the possible perpetrators of the femicide of a minor under 10 years of age, an event that occurred in the district of Alanje, adding prosecutors from the Superior Homicide and Femicide Prosecutor’s Office of the Metropolitan area to the work team.
The Chiriquí Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that it has more specialized work teams that have been arranged in the area in which the events were recorded, carrying out the necessary procedures and that allow obtaining effective elements within this investigation.
This criminal case arose on February 9, 2023, when the minor was found in an area close to her residence, with obvious blows to different parts of her body, being taken to a medical center; however, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, the treating doctors declared her dead.
