The Public Ministry opened a preliminary investigation against Morgan Querohead of the Ministry of Education, after his controversial statements in an interview during his visit to Piura.
In this context, the minister stated, in an apparent lapse, that “human rights are for people, not for rats,” when asked about those killed in the protests against President Dina Boluarte.
These words generated widespread rejection and led to at least three complaints against him. Among them, the one presented by lawyer Javier Adrianzén Carreño stands out, who accuses Quero of the alleged crime of discrimination to the detriment of the State.
“Insulting the memory of the deceased and denying them human rights is inadmissible, even more so coming from a Minister of Education. No Peruvian can say that,” Adrianzén told RPP after being notified that the Attorney General’s Office accepted his complaint. .
The lawyer also dismissed the minister’s defense, who claimed that his words were “distorted” and that his comment made reference to rapists.
According to Adrianzén, this explanation does not justify the grievance. “As an ordinary citizen, I filed the criminal complaint, without needing any charge, without representing any political party, simply as an outraged Peruvian,” he added.
Within the framework of this investigation, Morgan Quero has been summoned for next January 10, where he must give his statement to the authorities.
