“What does seem to us to be an excess is this request for an exit impediment. However, being aware that it is also part of the process, we agree to the delivery of our passport while this request from the Attorney General is resolved “he added.
This Wednesday, May 25, the Public Ministry reported that Pablo Sánchez, prosecutor of the Nation, ordered to initiate a preliminary investigation against the former Minister of Transport and Communications, Juan Silva, and six members of the Popular Action bench mentioned by Karelim López as alleged members of the group known as ‘The Children’ who were close to the Government.
Pablo Sánchez has requested a 36-month bar against ex-minister Silva, and 9 months against Raúl Doroteo Carbajo, Elvis Vergara Mendoza, Juan Carlos Mori Celis, Jorge Flores Ancachi, Darwin Espinoza Vargas and Ilich López Ureña.
“Given the statements of the criminal Karelim López, we have made ourselves available to the Public Ministry and the Peruvian justice system to clarify these false accusations and we have not only done so by word of mouth, but also with facts. We have been asking for more than two months that the investigations be opened”Vergara assured.
The spokesman for the Popular Action bench also assured that they are open to being investigated by the Ethics Commission, where an ex officio investigation has been launched against them after Karelim López’s statements before the Control Commission.
