Inumet issues yellow alert for strong storms in the north and northeast

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet), issued a yellow alert for strong storms on Sunday afternoon. The same were announced for the north and northeast of Uruguay, reports from the Institute.

The issued warning indicates that “An atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country.”

This may be the generator of storms “some punctually strong. It should be noted that in storm areas intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail falls, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.

The localities and departments that are affected by this alert are: the department of Artigas in its entirety. Similarly, Salto is affected throughout its territorial extension.

Then more on the coast, the department of Paysandú; mainly Cerro Chato, Chapicuy, Gallinal, Lorenzo Geyres, Quebracho and Termas de Guaviyú. In the area of ​​Masoller in the department of Rivera, it is also subject to meteorological disturbances.
