The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued a yellow and an orange alert for heavy storms on the afternoon of this Friday, January 20.

According to the agency’s statement, an atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country, which generates storms “some occasionally strong.”

“It should be noted that in areas of storms intense rains may be recorded in short periods, hail fall, intense electrical activity and very strong gusts of wind“, details the text.

Inumet had already issued a special notice for this Saturday due to strong storms, but it clarified that the weather conditions would begin to deteriorate from the afternoon / night of this Friday.

Peach: Baygorria and Feliciano.

Flowers: the entire department.

paysandu: Casa Blanca, Farms of Paysandú, Colonia Nuevo Paysandú, Constancia, Esperanza, Orgoroso, Paysandú, Piedras Coloradas, Porvenir and San Félix.

Black river: Algorta, Barrio Anglo, Bellaco, El Ombú, Fray Bentos, Gartental, General Borges, Grecco, Las Cañas, Los Arrayanes, Menafra, Nuevo Berlin, Paso de los Mellizos, San Javier, Tres Quintas, Villa María and Young.

Saint Joseph: Ecilda Paullier, Juan Soler, Kiyú-Ordeig, Mal Abrigo, Puntas de Valdez, Rafael Perazza, San José de Mayo and Villa María.
