Inumet issued yellow alert for storms and heavy rain

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) updated its yellow alert this Sunday due to strong storms and heavy rains. After the update, the affected areas only cover the towns of Cerro Largo and Treinta y Tres.

“It should be noted that in storm zones intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail falls, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.” Inumet.

Inumet will continue to monitor the situation and at 5:20 p.m., or in the event of significant changes, will update the alert.
