The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (inumet) issued an orange alert and a yellow one yellow alert for “strong storms” and applies to the west of the country from 08:30.
According to the institute, it is an “atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass” that “affects the country, generating storms, some occasionally strong.” “It should be noted that in stormy areas, intense rains may be recorded in short periods, hail fall, intense electrical activity and very strong gusts of wind.”
The alert is valid until 11:30 a.m. or in the event of any changes, the agency reported.
