Inumet issued a yellow alert for storms and heavy rains

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet)issued a yellow alert for persistence of strong storms and heavy rainswith 75% chance of precipitation. The alert is valid from this Sunday at 08:00 to 11:00.

As explained, an atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country, generating storms some punctually strong.

The Inumet added that in In stormy areas, intense rains may be recorded in short periods, hail fall, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. The situation will continue to be monitored and any changes will be reported.

The alert was issued at 08:00 a.m. and will be updated at 11:00 a.m.
