He Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) updated the orange and yellow alerts it had issued earlier this Wednesday by “strong storms” for almost the entire country.
Since 7:00 p.m. the orange warning has ceased and the yellow warning still persists, which covers a large part of the central territory of the country, from west to east.
“It should be noted that in stormy areas intense rains may be recorded in short periods, occasional hail fall, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind”reports the institute.
“The situation will continue to be monitored,” says Inumet. “The alert will be updated at 9:00 p.m. or upon significant changes”says the tweet of this Wednesday.
