About noon this Wednesday the alert ceased that the National Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued this Wednesday morning.
“Atmospheric conditions have temporarily improved, for which the cessation of the current alert is determined. Nevertheless, monitoring is maintained of the situation and, if necessary, new alerts will be issued,” reads the agency’s statement.
In principle, the warning was double: one yellow and one orange, but later it was updated and only the yellow one remained. In both cases it was alerted by strong storms and heavy rain.
Inumet I had already warned this Tuesday of what will be produced punctually strong storms and precipitation this Wednesday at west coast, north and east of the country.
Institute meteorologists extended the explanation as follows: “atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country, generating storms, some occasionally strong.
Likewise, the Inumet statement highlighted that in storm zones “it will be possible to register heavy rains in short periodsoccasional hail fall, intense electrical activity and streaks of strong wind”.
