He Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) re-updated the orange and yellow alerts for strong storms and heavy rains in towns in the northwest of the country.
Inumet warns that “in stormy areas, intense rains in short periods, occasional hail, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind”.

The warning started at 14:25 and will be updated at 15:30 or “in the face of significant changes”.

Artigas: The whole department.
Leap: Arapey, Belén, Constitución, Migliaro, Saucedo and Termas del Arapey.
Locations under yellow alert
Paysandu: Cerro Chato, Chapicuy, Colonia Nuevo Paysandú, Constancia, Gallinal, Guayabos, Lorenzo Geyres, Quebracho, Drums and Guaviyú Hot Springs.
Rivera: Cerros de la Calera, Lagos del Norte, Masoller, Minas de Corrales, Paso Ataques, Rivera and Tranqueras.
Leap: Albisu, Biassini, Campo de Todos, Cayetano, Cerro de Vera, Colonia 18 de Julio, Colonia Itapebí, Fernández, Garibaldi, Itapebí, Lluveras, Puntas de Valentín, Quintana, Rincón de Valentín, Salto, San Antonio, Sarandí de Arapey and Termas of the Dayman.
Tacuarembó: Ansina, Arerungua, Iporá Spa, Curtina, La Hilera, La Pedrera, Paso Bonilla, Paso del Cerro, Piedra Sola, Pueblo de Arriba, Sauce de Batoví, Tacuarembó and Drums.
