He National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) reported this Thursday that it left the first driver’s license service office in Orlando, Florida, which will operate at the facilities of the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in that city.
The institution informed through a press release that this initiative will benefit some 60,000 Dominicans.
The director of the institution, Hugo Berasexplained that this action is part of the expansion plans in the renewal and duplicate services of license to drive Dominicans residing abroad.
“The simplification of procedures from a distance represents a saving of time and, in turn, allows citizens to be up to date with the documents required when entering the country, in this case the license to drive,” said the official at the head of the act.
Beras said that since February 16 those interested in renewing their license or who need a duplicate due to loss, can request appointments and make the payment online through the virtual office available on the portal www.intranet.gob.do.
“Then you must go with your identity card and license due to the office located at 617 East Colonial Dr. Suite 100, in the city of Orlando, Florida, from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon,” he reported.
Renewal and duplicate cost
The renewal of the license It has a cost of US$45.00, while the duplicate will be obtained for US$30.00.
It adds that the new license office is part of an agreement of the intranet with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), which seeks to favor Dominicans abroad, so that upon their return to the country they have the required documentation to travel through the roads in accordance with Law 63-17.
