Puerto Plata.- The National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (INTRANT)announced the implementation of a plan for solutions in terms of mobility and road safety for this province.
In coordination with the inter-institutional work regarding the construction of the Cangrejo bridge by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), the Intrant will act in the establishment of alternate routes together with the DIGESETT.
Referring to the subject, Hugo Beras maintained that the objective of making transit in the area viable is due to the will of President Abinader to promote a system of sustainable mobility that benefits all the productive sectors of the province, citizens and tourism.
Beras announced that the intervention in the province contemplates, in a first stage, the signaling and definition of alternate routes to the Cangrejo bridge, whose construction will begin by the MOPC in the coming days.
“We will permanently maintain an operation with technical personnel from INTRANT, members of the Military and Police Commission (COMIPOL) and DIGESETT,” said Beras
The traffic viability coordination work will be carried out with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, the Provincial Government and the municipalities of the municipalities of Sosúa, Montellano, Cabarete and Sabaneta.
Hugo Beras announced INTRANT’s plans for Puerto Plata during a joint meeting headed by Governor Claritza Rochette, with the participation of the aforementioned institutions.
On her side, the governor highlighted the interest of President Luis Abinader in seeking a definitive solution to the problem of the bridge, “so this long-awaited work will already be a reality”, he claimed.
While the Deputy Minister of Public Works, Roberto Herrera, announced that the structure will be completed in seven months.
Likewise, the senator from Puerto Plata, Ginnette Bournigal, requested the comprehension of tour operators, tourists and citizens during the work to be carried out for the benefit of all.
