Intrant and Red Cross united against road accidents

With the purpose of prevent and reduce road accidents and guarantee that citizens travel in safe conditions, the National Transit Institute and Land Transportation (Intrant) and the Red Cross They will implement the “Transit+Clean” plan that will include toxicological tests on public transport drivers.

This is an initiative that will begin with a pilot plan of three months since the Christmas holidays of this year in the Greater Santo Domingowhere the processes and results will be evaluated and then extended to a national scale.

The directors of the Red Cross, Braulio Alcántara, and of National Transit Institute and Land Transportation (Intrant), Milton Morrisonsigned an agreement that contemplates the application of rigorous health protocols that will guarantee the quality of the tests and develop guidance and support actions for drivers in positive cases.

He Intrantfor its part, will define the annual number of tests and the strategic points of execution, being able to overcome the thousand samples per year according to operational demand.

He maintained that the agreement with the Red Cross Dominican Republic is a direct, firm and necessary action to close the way to driving under the influence of substances and to ensure that those who transport lives do so with the responsibility that the country demands.
