A blackout of the mobile phone service in Cuba was reported this Thursday afternoon after 6:45 p.m., as confirmed by 14ymedio in various locations in the country, after a massive gathering at the Grand Packard hotel in Old Havana, where the American rapper Tekashi is staying.
“Only fixed telephony worked and in some places Nauta Hogar, but there was no data or mobile signal,” a user from Sancti Spíritus told this newspaper, after 7:40 pm when mobile data returned to his cell phone.
“We inform our clients that at the moment there is an affectation in mobile services. Work is being done to identify the failure for the soonest restoration,” the Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa) published after an hour without service.
In the Cuban capital, reports still arrive at the newsroom of this newspaper confirming that mobile telephony continues without internet and mobile data.
