The International Summit against Fascism organized by the Foreign Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, was closed this Wednesday, where the participants highlighted the unity of the People in the rescue of the constitutional thread.
The Minister of People’s Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, stated that on April 13, 2002, Caracas “became the capital of the entire world due to the union of the people, aware and mobilized.”
Villegas emphasized the courage of the people who, although initially deceived, later came out in defense of the country and surrounded military barracks, public and private media outlets, and went to the Miraflores Palace.
“The People came out of the commotion and began to go with a sense of history to decisive sites,” Villegas said when recalling the date.
For her part, Yesenia Fuentes, a member of the Association of Victims of the Coup d’etat, who was shot in the face by the Metropolitan Police 20 years ago, said she would again defend Chavez’s political project.
During the activity, the Argentine writer, Leopoldo Castilla, presented the book “El cantar del Catatumbo”, a series of chronicles about Venezuela, from the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution to the sowing of Commander Hugo Chávez.
