International press reacts to Boric's defense of singer Taylor Swift for controversy with Damon Albarn

The President-elect, Gabriel Boric, highlighted this Monday just past after he got into the controversy starring the pop / country singer Taylor Swift and the leader of Blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn.

It all started when the Briton pointed out in an interview to Los Angeles Times that the American singer does not write her own songs. Quickly Swift replied via Twitter: “I was a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write all my songs. Your opinion is completely false and so hurtful. You don’t have to like my songs, but it’s really fucked up trying to discredit my lyrics.”

The artist’s fans began to defend her on social networks and criticize Albarn, who had to retract her statements and apologize to the “All Too Well” interpreter.

Boric’s Defense

The controversy did not stop there, since Gabriel Boric also defended Taylor Swift through his social networks.

“Here in Chile you have a large group of followers who know that you write your own songs from the heart. Do not take seriously the boys who need to insult or lie to get attention. Hugs from the south, Taylor,” said the President-elect .

This response caused surprise in the international press, who highlighted the deputy’s defense of the singer, as well as his taste for the music of the American artist.

From the British newspaper The Independent-that shredded Boric’s fanaticism- even the magazine rolling stone highlighted the response of the President Elect.

They also posted about Boric’s defense of Swift, The nation (Argentina), Clarion (Argentina), The country (Uruguay), TheDailyBeast (USA.), Universal (Mexico) and the show portal AND! News.
