The 1st edition of the International Humor Film Festival starts tomorrow (7) at the Cinematheque of the Museum of Modern Art in Rio of January (MAM-Rio). Until the next 16th, 64 productions will be shown, including feature and short films, from 18 countries.
In the opening session, at 7 pm this fourthOn Monday (7), tribute will be paid to Buster Keaton, one of the biggest names in humor in cinema, with the screening of short films Day Dreams (1922) and The Aeronaut (1923).
The screening will be accompanied by a live piano, just as it used to happen in movie theaters in the past.
Among the highlights of the competitive show are the Ukrainian The Inglorious Serfs (2020), directed by Roman Perfilyev; the argentinian El Cuento del Tío (2021), directed by Ignacio Guggiari; and the Russian Shameless (2021), by Nikita Vladimirov.
Among the short films, there are seven national productions: She Who Lives Upstairs (2020), by Amarildo Martins; Waiting for the Shock (2020), by Rogerio Boo and Jorge Lepesteur; Suspicious Attitude (2020), by Pietro Sargentelli; Diagnosis (2022), by Gabriela Camargo; static (2022), by Gabriela Queiroz; The Antisocials (2021), by Gabriel Silva; and Black stripe (2021), by Nícolas Sanches Martins.
