A festival with multiple activities
“This Festival not only brings us together, but builds a different San Luis Potosí to activate all the levers: economic, tourist, cultural, artistic and sports. It is also a great investment in talent. This is aimed at families from Potosí, but also from the interior of the State, as well as from other parts of the country and the world. On this occasion, the invited nation is Japan, due to the close ties they have with the capital, and the invited city is Mérida, Yucatán, whose authorities asked to be present at this event,” said Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos.
The head of Municipal Culture, Daniel García Álvarez de la Llera, revealed that there will be more than 80 events and 750 artists, half local talent; Mijares Symphonic, José María Napoleón, Orquesta Pérez Prado with Rubén Albarrán, Lebanese violinist Ara Malikian, Los Ángeles Azules Symphonic, “Chavela y sus Mujeres” with Eugenia León, Ofelia Medina, Ely Guerra, Ximena Sariñana, Mariachi Gama Mil and the Macorinos; “The Best of Rock in Spanish”; Susana Zabaleta, Francisco Céspedes and Raúl Di Blasio, among others; there will be theater with Jacqueline Andere; other shows such as the gay dance group La Cebra, as well as a children’s program and presentations in traditional neighborhoods.
The director of Municipal Tourism, Claudia Lorena Peralta Antiga, mentioned that more than 100,000 visitors are expected for the San Luis Festival in Spring, she also thanked the entire tourism sector for their support and recalled that this event is already strongly promoted in the City of Mexico and soon in the Tianguis Turístico, to confirm that “the capital of Potosi is the destination for all people.”
The head of Municipal Sports, Luis Fernando Alonso Molina, added that along with the San Luis Open Challenger Tour Tennis Tournament, there will be a car rally, the intercolonial tournament with more than 500 teams, in addition to traditional game competitions, night rides, among other activities with national and international quality.
