In the Simón Bolívar room of the Foreign Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the authorities received the poets who will participate in the first World Poetry Congress, in this regard the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, highlighted the resistance of the people Venezuela against unilateral coercive measures.
On this point he expressed: “that people who are outside, who are a poet, deserve all the poems, all the verses, all the applause, the Venezuelan people. That town defeated fascism in the streets.”
The coercive measures generated social consequences for the population “but they have not extinguished poetry. The ability to dream of our people, who welcomes all the poets of the world”.
“Welcome to a town with intact morale, which has its difficulties and faces them. There is no better antidote against fascism than poetry,” said Villegas.
