International caravan heads to the Nicaraguan border. Will try to enter the country

The International Parliamentary Commission of Solidarity for the Freedom of Political Prisoners left San José, Costa Rica, this morning in an International Caravan to the Peñas Blancas border with Nicaragua with the aim of trying to enter the country and thus verify the conditions of the more than 190 prisoners of conscience and demand their immediate freedom.

The delegation sent various communications to the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo to allow their entry into Nicaragua, but the dictatorship did not issue any response to the request of the Latin American parliamentarians. They intend to meet with the relatives of the inmates and “visit some of the detainees.”

The delegation is made up of deputies from the Left Front and Workers Unity (FITU), from Argentina, and representatives of different organizations from Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Panama and Costa Rica.

“The Ortega Murillo regime knows that this Commission has the decision to enter the country, to visit the prisons, to verify the situation, the state of health and the confinement of political prisoners. We are going to wait for that decision at the border because we even came for that purpose », he affirmed.
