Aguascalientes
Disputed charges: Governorship
Current Governor: Marín Orozco Sandoval (PAN)
In 2021, the PAN was left with 13 of 27 contested councils and with three of the 11 councils. Leaders of other parties estimate that the confrontations between Marko Cortés and Martín Orozco will weigh on the local contest. “The PAN has entered an exercise of deterioration, there are the political statements of the leader against the governor,” says Clemente Castañeda, senator for MC, who predicts a growth of his party in Aguascalientes.
Durango
Disputed charges: Government and 39 municipalities
Current Governor: José Rosas Aispuro (PAN)
In an alliance, the PAN and the PRD managed to defeat the PRI in 2016 with José Rosas Aispuro. Six years after that contest, they are outlining a new coalition, which this time the PRI is also joining to try to defeat Morena, who has managed to expand its force through northern states of the country. In 2021, Durango held legislative elections, resulting in a divided Congress. Of 25 seats the PRI won 8, Morena 7, PAN 5, PRD 2 and PVEM, MC and PT, one deputy per party.

It represents one of its historical bastions for the PRI since there has never been an alternation. During the 2021 local contest, the PRI won 14 of the 18 deputations with a relative majority and 32 of the 84 municipal presidential elections, but the polls are not favorable for them in the fight for governor.
Oaxaca
Disputed charges: Governorship
Current Governor: Alejandro Murat Hinojosa (PRI)
Six years ago, Alejandro regained the governorship of Oaxaca for the PRI, which his father, José Murat Casab, headed between 1998 and 2004. The entity is one of the most coveted by Morena. It has been one of the states most visited by President López Obrador. From other parties, politicians such as Clemente Castañeda point out that the PRI sends the message that “it has already delivered the square,” which they attribute to factors such as the cordial treatment between Murat Hinojosa and the López Obrador administration.
Quintana Roo
Disputed charges: Governor and 25 councils
Current Governor: Carlos Joaquín González (PAN)
This is another of the entities most desired by Morena, due to its importance in the tourism sector and in the national economy as a whole. There, the PAN faces the challenge of endorsing the triumph it achieved in 2016 with Carlos Joaquín González, whom it nominated in alliance with the PRD. In 2021, the 11 city councils disputed in the entity, in a process from which the PAN came out badly. Of the set of municipal presidencies in the fight, Morena and his allies were left with eight and the PRI with three.
Tamaulipas
Disputed charges: Governorship
Current Governor: Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca (PAN)
It is expected to be one of the most tense elections of the year, due to political and legal confrontations between the outgoing governor and the administration of President López Obrador. The PAN intends to retain power, while Morena aspires to win and achieve another alternation. In the 2021 elections, the Morenistas won a majority in the local Congress by obtaining 18 from deputations to 15 from the PAN, 2 from the PRI and 1 from MC.
