Interministerial Committee for Pandemic Response: President Boric and 10 ministers participate in the first meeting of the instance

President Gabriel Boric led this Monday in La Moneda the first meeting of the Interministerial Committee for Pandemic Response. The instance -in which 10 ministers participated- comes to close the process of the new institutionality for the pandemic.

The committee will meet under the call of the President and will work exceptionally, based on the consideration of the authorities of the Ministry of Health (Minsal).

“This interministerial committee closes the process of installing the new institutionality for the pandemic,” said the Minister of Health, Maria Begona Yarza. “In those extraordinary situations, the response that we are going to give as a Government, as a State, is a comprehensive response and this committee gives that perspective,” he added.

“To take care of ourselves there are not only health measures, but they have to be accompanied by measures from the social and economic point of view, and this committee gives that perspective,” he added.

In addition to Boric and Yarza, the ministers participated in the committee Izkia Siches (Inside), Mario Marcel (Tax authorities), Nicholas Grau (Economy), Jeanette Vega (Social development), Marco Antonio Avila (Education), Camila Vallejo (Segpres), Flavio Salazar (Sciences), Christopher Pineda (subrogation of Transport) and Antonia Orellana (Women and Gender Equity).

Also present were the Undersecretary of Public Health, Christopher Squareand the undersecretary of Healthcare Networks, Fernando Araos.

The head of Health also stated that new sanitary measures will be announced next Tuesday, the date on which the government will resume the televised balances.

“It will be a very important Tuesday because the commission has been talking about very relevant issues for the community, capacity, masks,” said the Secretary of State.
