The San Calixto Observatory reported an intermediate earthquake in Potosí on the night of Wednesday the 7th.
“On August 7, 2024 at 21:31:53 (local), the San Calixto Observatory Seismological Network (RS – OSC) recorded an event of magnitude 5.2 M, at a hypocentral depth of 207.7 km (intermediate earthquake). The epicenter was located in the Nor Lipez province of the department of Potosí,” it posted on its social networks.
In its report, the Observatory detailed that, due to the depth of >100 km, it is unlikely to be felt and cause damage on the surface.
He also indicated that people in the city of Tarija reported having felt the movement.
