After declaring the state of emergency for 30 days after the violent demonstrations in several regions of the country, Dina Boluarte and its ministers have been evaluating more measures to stop the social upheaval that the Peru after the coup attempt by Pedro Castillo.
The Minister of the Interior, César Cervantes, clarified that, at the moment, there is no curfew, however, it is under permanent evaluation: “Social immobilization is still constantly evaluated,” he indicated in an interview with Exitosa.
He also assured that the Armed Forces will support the police officers to maintain internal order.
“The National Police will be supported by the Armed Forces to maintain internal order at the national level, and according to the constant monitoring, measures will be taken, if there is a need for social immobilization,” he clarified.
“The rights that are suspended are freedom of assembly, freedom of transit, personal security, and the inviolability of the home, but they must apply it according to the circumstances. It is not a measure to alarm the public, ”he also asserted.
A few days ago, the Government had declared a state of emergency in Apurímac, then in Arequipa and Ica, however, it decided to extend the measure to the entire country. It was also ordered that the military guard the airports and hydroelectric plants.
