Interior Minister denies that the PNP started the fire near Plaza San Martín

The Minister of the Interior, He denied that the police had started the fire that broke out in a building in the vicinity of Plaza San Martín.

“There was a fire a moment ago in Lima, in the Carabaya jirón. Information is circulating that this fire had been caused by a tear gas device used by the police, which is completely false.”said Minister Romero.

“I can put that tear gas device in my pocket and it doesn’t cause fire burns, just the gas is what causes it”he added.

As is known, a large-scale fire was recorded in a historic building adjacent to Plaza San Martín. Unfortunately, due to the protests, fire units had difficulties reaching the scene of the accident.
