Inter beats Goiás 4-2 and regains the second place in the Brasileirão

It was an electrifying first half at Beira Rio. With a minute of ball rolling, Dadá Belmonte almost opened the scoring for Esmeraldino, kicking from the edge of the area, but Keiller made a great save. Who opened the scoring was Inter, in the 12th minute. The play started with a steal from Carlos de Pena, who played for Pedro Henrique to cross in the middle of the area. The emerald defender made a mistake and Maurício kicked it into the back of the net. At 30, the referee scored a penalty after Goiás’ cross, when Bustos touched the ball with his arm. Pedro Raul hit the left corner of the goal, and left everything the same in Beira Rio.

Soon after, Pedro Henrique (PH) invaded Esmeraldino’s area, cut with the right and kicked hard, but Tadeu prevented the goal. With so much insistence, Colorado was back in front of the marker in the 41st minute. De Pena played for PH, who tried to score with a heel, but the ball was left for shirt 10 Alan Patrick to push it to the goal. And it didn’t stop there: there was still time for Esmeraldino to reach the draw again. In stoppage time, after a corner, Pedro Raul took advantage of the leftovers, and scored his second in Beira Rio: 2-2. The Goiás forward started to share the Brasileirão’s top scorer with 17 goals, the same total by Argentine Germán Cano, from Fluminense. .

In the second stage, at 11 minutes, Inter was back in front of the score: Maurício crossed from the left, as Alan Patrick headed into the back of the net and scored Inter’s third. It was the Colorado striker’s second goal of the game. In the 21st minute, Carlos de Pena almost extended it to the hosts, risking a bomb from outside the area. Behind the scoreboard, Esmeraldino didn’t show any reaction. At 31, after a corner, Alan Patrick kicked with danger, the ball deflected in defense, and Wanderson barely scored Colorado’s fourth goal. It was up to midfielder Carlos de Pena, already in the 50th minute, to do his thing in Beira-Rio, after Esmeraldino’s mistake in the side kick, from Maguinho to goalkeeper Tadeu. De Pena stole the ball and sealed the 4-2 victory for Inter, securing the second place in the Brasileirão.
