Internacional returned to the vice-leadership of Serie A of the Brazilian Championship this Sunday (9), seven rounds from the end of the competition, after defeating Goiás 4-2 at Estádio Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre. Number 10 Alan Patrick scored twice for Colorado, and Maurício and Carlos de Pena also scored. Esmeraldino’s two goals were scored by striker Pedro Raul, who became the top scorer in Serie A, alongside Argentine Germán Cano (Fluminense), with 17 goals. With the triumph at home, Inter reached 57 points, nine less than leaders Palmeiras. Goiás, with 31, occupies the 13th position. The 31st round ends on Monday (10), with two games: Atlético_GO x Pameiras at 18:30 (Brasília time), and Santos x Juventude, at 20:00.

It was an electrifying first half at Beira Rio. With a minute of ball rolling, Dadá Belmonte almost opened the scoring for Esmeraldino, kicking from the edge of the area, but Keiller made a great save. It was the Colorado striker’s second goal of the game. In the 21st minute, Carlos de Pena almost extended it to the hosts, risking a bomb from outside the area. Behind the scoreboard, Esmeraldino didn’t show any reaction. At 31, after a corner, Alan Patrick kicked with danger, the ball deflected in defense, and Wanderson barely scored Colorado’s fourth goal. It was up to midfielder Carlos de Pena, already in the 50th minute, to do his thing in Beira-Rio, after Esmeraldino’s mistake in the side kick, from Maguinho to goalkeeper Tadeu. De Pena stole the ball and sealed the 4-2 victory for Inter, securing the second place in the Brasileirão.
