Ovando mentioned that in The Adult Emergency Service is seeing patients in a higher age range (65 years and older) and with comorbiditiesarriving some in serious condition, which leads to intensive care is seen with a higher demand to the one you normally have.

“At the moment, 50% of the beds in the Intensive Care Unit are with patients who have arrived in a critical situationwith failure of various organs, kidney failure, among other consequences due to chikungunya”, he indicated.
