The Integrity and Development Bench considered the Government’s announcement to present a question of confidence so that the Parliament prioritizes the debate and voting of the initiative that regulates the relation of the powers of the State.
“The Executive intends to sharpen the confrontation and force Congress to repeal a law that has been democratically approved by the Constitutional Court”reads the statement.
Along these lines, he criticized that the Constitution Commission does not prioritize the bills that seek to provide a democratic solution to the current political crisis, such as the initiative to advance elections, presented by Susel Paredes, a member of this parliamentary group.
The question of trust
Yesterday it was learned that the president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, will present to Congress a matter of confidence for the bill of the Executive Power that proposes to repeal Law No. 31355, which regulates said figure in the last paragraph of article 132 and article 133 of the Constitution.
In a letter addressed to the president of Congress José Williams (Avanza País), Torres Vásquez indicated that seven months have elapsed since the proposal was presented to Parliament and to date it does not have the opinion of the competent commission.
“I respectfully greet you to ask you, as President of the Council of Ministers, to convene us at the first opportunity that the Plenary of Congress is in session, in order to raise a question of confidence, in accordance with articles 51, 126 and 132. 133 ° of the Political Constitution, and subparagraphs c) and e)1 of article 86 of the Regulations of Congress”he pointed.
