Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Institute for Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (IDEICE) and the National Drug Council (CND) signed an agreement oriented to the development of prevention, education and awareness programs on the use of prohibited substances in public schools nationwide.
Through the signature, the CND is committed to the design and implementation of educational programs, workshops, training and awareness campaigns aimed at students, families, educational personnel and technicians of the IDEICE.
While, IDEICE will develop research and facilitate access to dissemination spaces, support the council campaigns and create monitoring and reporting systems that allow intervention with scientific data and evidence.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Jesús Andújar Avilés, Executive Director of the IDEICE and Mr. Alejandro de Jesús Abreu, president of the CND, who, in the presence of authorities of both entities, pondered the scope of the agreement in the Conference Hall of the IDEICE.
Dr. Jesús Andújar Avilés said that the firm will reinforce a strategic alliance that took its first steps with the presentation of the results of the investigation into the parental skills program of the Ministry of Education (MINERD) last April.
“Today we seal a commitment to the present and future of our country. In addition, it acknowledges that educational quality cannot be disconnected from the emotional, physical and social health of our students,” said Andújar Aviles.
He said that this five -year framework agreement will also strengthen the IDEICE research repository, with the generation of precise prevention data for researchers, which constitutes significant tools for decision -making based on scientific evidence in the education sector.
He said that the IDEICE is “honest” to add its technical and scientific abilities in favor of prevention with an integral approach, where “every data, evaluation and politics is linked to the well -being of the educational community.”
On his side, the sociologist Alejandro de Jesús Abreu, when pronouncing the central words of the event, said: “The cooperation relations and the institutional alliance that we have been building for months with the IDEICE today reach a new level with the signing of this agreement, which will allow raising the quality of the training service we offer from the Council.”
“Also, it will allow the technical teams of both institutions to work together in the creation of more effective pedagogical models, aimed at the correct generation, analysis and structuring of data, that help us strengthen and create better prevention strategies,” added the president of the CND.
Scope of the agreement
With this agreement, the National Drug Council, in addition to the students, the IDEICE staff will also benefit from courses, conversations and educational materials aimed at students of different levels of pre -university education in the country.
It will also collaborate with the IDEICE in the implementation of awareness campaigns on the physical and emotional risks of the consumption of prohibited substances. In addition, he will provide his expert advice to detect and respond to emerging risks in educational communities.
While the IDEICE will facilitate specialized magazines, pre -recesses and the International Congress Ideice to disseminate findings of relief related to the educational work of the CND.
The Dominican Institute for Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (IDEICE) is a decentralized institution attached to the Ministry of Education, created on June 25, 2008 through Ordinance No. 03-2008. It is the first entity of the country dedicated exclusively to the evaluation and research of educational quality, generating findings that contribute to decision -based decision -making.
The National Drug Council (CND) is a dependency of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, an agency created through Law 50-88, in 1988, in order to be the governing body of prevention policies against improper use of drugs.
