In search of Santa Cruz having a judicial morgue With capacity and equipment, local institutions meet in an attempt to manage the construction of the environments.
Currently the morgue operates in a space adjacent to the Hospital of the Pampa de la Isla, but its capacity is not what is required and it also causes the emanation of nauseating odors that harm the hospital services.
The Ombudsman’s Office, in coordination with representatives of the Mayor’s Office, the health sector, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) of the Government, among others, They held a first meeting, in which they agreed on the urgent need to build a judicial morgue.
The Santa Cruz departmental delegate of the Ombudsman’s Office, Sheila Gómez, indicated that after the first call for dialogue, they managed to meet with representatives of different institutions.
“In this dialogue table in which the situation of the judicial morgue was discussed, We have heard various suggestions, such as the possibility of having the support of public and private universities that can take care of deaths for academic purposes, to decongest the judicial morgue, but these would be short-term measures. However, medium and long-term measures must be planned that are effective and definitive,” said Gómez.
The participation of those attending the dialogue concluded with the need for construction of a new judicial morgue according to the population size of the department, a demand that will be raised to the State Attorney General, Róger Mariaca, so that the processes to manage the work can continue.
A second meeting was scheduled for October 30 for the authorities to present proposals and the Ombudsman’s Office will follow up on the agreed points.
