Institutions’ investments in B3 in 2025 were R$1.7 trillion in the spot market, of which R$997.4 was in shares alone. In the comparison between December 2024 and December 2025, the volume traded in the spot market registered growth of 15%. In the equity segment, the increase was 25% in the same period.
The increase reflects the good moment in the country’s investment market, with the stock market reaching the mark of 186 thousand points, and was obtained from the Datawise+ platform, operated by B3 itself and the company Neoway.
Institutional investors on the stock exchange (B3) are legal entities that manage large volumes of third-party capital, such as pension funds, insurance companies, banks and investment funds, and the spot market includes investments in funds, such as real estate funds (FIIs).
The stocks most targeted by this type of investor in 2025 were energy, banking and mining companies. Among the ten with the highest volume of contributions, Vale shares (VALE3) attracted R$86 billion. Energy companies attracted R$130.4 billion, R$67.9 billion in Petrobras (PETR4), R$21.8 billion in Prio (PRIO3), R$20.7 billion in Axia Energia (AXIA3) and R$20 billion in Equatorial Energia (EQTL3).
Among banks, the total was R$114.5 billion, with Itaú Unibanco (ITUB4) attracting R$45 billion, Banco do Brasil (BBAS3) R$37.8 billion and Bradesco (BBDC4) R$31.7 billion. Closing the list of ten stocks with the highest investment volume, the B3 fund (B3SA3) received contributions of R$22 billion and Localiza (RENT3) attracted R$20.8 billion.
