This Saturday, July 27, the service of Instant Payments may experience some interruptions because the Swift Corporation, the entity responsible for operating the flow of payments in the country, will carry out its usual global business continuity exercise on its platform.
The interruptions would be recorded between 12:00 noon and 11:00 p.m.
The information was provided by the central bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD), through a notice issued to the media.
“We apologize to the users of the service instant payments BCRD for the inconvenience that this situation may cause and we appeal to your understanding, since these exercises contribute to guaranteeing the quality of the service of payment messaging provided by the corporation,” the statement said.
Instant Payments
The BCRD explains on its portal that the Instant Payments It is a real-time payment service through which bank customers, using the electronic platforms of their respective banks, can make urgent or high-value payments, for fund transfers, credit card payments or loans, in Dominican pesos, US dollars and euros, charged to their accounts. This service is designed on the BCRD’s LBTR System, which facilitates real-time transactions between banks.
- These operations are carried out with a maximum time of eight minutes for final accreditation, from the moment the payment instruction is processed.
Specifies that the instant payment service BCRD operates seven days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with a temporary closure from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and continuous hours on weekends and holidays.
Payments made outside of these hours, i.e. after 11:00 p.m., become effective at 7:00 a.m. the following day.
Additionally, the instant payments BCRDs are available at bank offices and through electronic forms, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
