The amounts paid to Social Security policyholders who earn more than one minimum wage were readjusted by 10.16%, with the exception of those who started receiving their benefit from February 2021. For these, an adjustment factor is applied that takes into account the start date of retirement or pension (see table below).

ADJUSTMENT OF BENEFITS GRANTED ACCORDING TO THEIR RESPECTIVE START DATES, APPLICABLE FROM JANUARY 2022

in the same ordinance in which the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) is applied to readjust benefits, the Ministries of Labor and Social Security and the Economy raised the ceiling for benefits paid by the INSS from R$ 6,433.57 to R$ 7,087.22.

For those who receive the equivalent of the minimum wage, R$ 1,212, payments began to be deposited on January 25th and continue to be released until the 7th. The calendar takes into account the number of the insured’s benefit.

The more than 36 million INSS beneficiaries can consult the dates on which the agency will deposit the money in their accounts by accessing the table that the institute makes available on its page.
