The INSS Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) approved, this Thursday (27), 393 requests made by the parliamentarians that make up the collegiate. Among them, two requests for preventive detention: INSS CPMI approves two requests for preventive detention

  • From the president of the Association of Retirees and Pensioners of Brazil (AAPB), Cecília Rodrigues Mota, who gave a statement to CPMI;
  • From businessman João Carlos Camargo Júnior, the “famous tailor”, who allegedly carried out financial transactions with several of those investigated by CPMI and the Federal Police (PF).

The other approved requirements were requests for information, confrontations and requests to block the assets of those being investigated.

Parliamentarians from the government and opposition bases agreed to remove 86 requests that did not have consensus from the commission’s agenda. These will be considered next week, in a nominal vote.

Among the postponements is the analysis of the coercive summons of the Attorney General of the Union (AGU), Jorge Messias, to provide clarifications generated controversy among parliamentarians. Messias was already invited to appear at CPMI and did not attend.

Since this Thursday morning, the INSS CPMI has also heard the testimony of Mauro Palombo Concílio, an accountant for companies suspected of having received millionaire resources from undue discounts on benefits for retirees and pensioners from the National Social Security Institute (INSS).

Reimbursement

The Ministry of Social Security informed Agência Brasil that it had already refunded R$ 2.56 billion, 3.75 million to retirees and pensioners harmed by the scheme that carried out illegal discounts on social security benefits paid by the INSS.

The data considers payments scheduled until November 17th.

According to the ministry, 6,194,347 policyholders of the institute questioned any discount on their benefits, with 97.9% of them not recognizing the discounts made on their benefits.

Of the total number of open records, 4,841,364 are eligible to receive reimbursement from the federal government.

Until February 14, 2026, beneficiaries can still open requests reimbursement through official INSS channels: Application or via the website My INSSlogged in to the Gov.br Portal; Telephone 135, with free service from Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 10pm; and post offices, which offer free support in more than 5 thousand units.
