The agencies of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) will have changes in their service to the public during the Christmas and New Year period, due to national holidays and optional points defined by the federal government.
On December 24th and 31st, the day before public holidays, opening hours will be reduced. The agencies will only be open until 1pm, with limited in-person service during this period.
On December 25th (Christmas) and January 1st (Universal Fraternization), there will be no face-to-face service at INSS units, which will remain closed.
The normal operation of Social Security Agencies will resume on December 26th and January 2nd, respecting previously scheduled services.
Central 135
The main INSS service channel, Central 135 will also have special opening hours. On December 24th and 31st, human assistance will be available until 6pm.
After this time, the service will only operate electronically.
On December 25th and January 1st, Central 135 operates exclusively with electronic service. On December 26th and January 2nd, service returns to normal.
The INSS advises policyholders to seek electronic services, available on the website and in the Meu INSS application.
These tools allow consultations, scheduling and requests for benefits, even during holidays.
