Inspection of electrical meters

Inspección medidores eléctricos

The Dominican Quality Institute (Indocal) and the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) are working on a project that aims to establish a rigorous inspection process for all electric meters that enter the country.

The director of Indocal, Nestor Julio Matos Ureñasaid that he recently met with the president of CUED, Celso Marranzini, to coordinate well the execution of that initiative.

Matos Ureña expressed that this process will begin soon and will guarantee all users of the electric service that their meters are “really and effectively” accounting for the energy they are consuming.

He also said they are making efforts, together with companies in the sector, to create certification processes for electrical materials sold in the country.
