Inspection demobilizes clandestine blocks and restrains agglomerations

The Municipal Public Order Department and the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard have demobilized 11 clandestine carnival groups so far, three on Saturday (26), five on Sunday (27) and three yesterday (28). The street blocks are still prohibited from parading this year in the capital of Rio de Janeiro due to the covid-19 pandemic, but private parties were allowed. In the city of Rio, most of the clandestine blocks were concentrated in the central region, in points such as Praça XV, Avenida Presidente Vargas, Rua 1º de Março, Praça da Cruz Vermelha, in the port area, on Boulevard Olímpico and in Lago da Prainha. .

The secretariat reported that it monitors these irregular events so that there are no disorders in the city and the Municipal Guard works to demobilize these agglomerations to reduce possible damage in situations with crowds and also to avoid blocking roads.

“During the approaches made by the agents, the organizers of the clandestine blocks do not formally present themselves, and it is not possible, so far, to identify those responsible. After the intervention of the teams, the revelers disperse from the places”, informed the secretary.

The bodies also point out that they rely on the awareness and collaboration of the population to avoid participation in these unauthorized events. Inspections are carried out by 1,260 agents daily.

Recife and Olinda

The Executive Secretariat for Urban Control of the Municipality of Recife (Secon) reported that, from the night of Friday (25) to the morning of this Tuesday (1), inspections were carried out in 514 commercial establishments in the city with the objective of avoiding occupation. irregularity of public places and consequent agglomerations. 73 notifications were issued.

“The inspection aims to ensure compliance with Decree No. 52,249 of the State Government, which provides for restrictions on parties and concerts in the period from February 25th to March 1st. Until the end of the validity of the rule, the city hall will continue to act in the traditional centers of revelry, such as Bairro do Recife, with a staff of professionals from Secon, Municipal Civil Guard of Recife, Municipality of Transit and Transport of Recife, Sanitary Surveillance and Procon -Recife. The Military Police of Pernambuco continues to support inspection actions”, said the municipality.

According to the city hall of Olinda, during the period that corresponds to the carnival, some agglomerations of people were registered, mainly where the bars are located in the historic area. To curb agglomerations, the city hall set up a task force with the Heritage, Culture and Tourism Department; Citizen Security; Urban Control Executive; Department of Urban Mobility and Department of Health of Olinda to inspect the traditional stretches of revelry in the city.

“The inspection, which also counted on the Military Police of Pernambuco, has been taking place during these days, always from 8 am to midnight, and with a staff superior to what was being developed in the pre-carnival week”, said the municipal administration.

According to the Salvador City Hall, so far no complaints have been received regarding the creation of clandestine blocks in the city. “A task force with municipal bodies has been mobilized since last Wednesday (23), with the support of the Military Police, in order to make citizens aware of how to avoid crowds on the streets, curb unregulated commerce and noise pollution, in addition to verify compliance with the health protocols to combat covid-19 in commercial establishments”, informed the municipality.

Belo Horizonte

The city of Belo Horizonte reported that the carnival blocks are not prohibited in the capital of Minas Gerais, but that, this year, they do not have the organization or financial support of the municipality.

“Spontaneous manifestation is a constitutional right, provided for by law. Respect for the code of conduct and traffic laws, however, must be maintained in all situations, with the city hall being alert to ensure that both are complied with”, said the municipal administration.

Brasilia

In Brasília, five establishments and agglomeration points were interdicted and three were fined in operation on Monday night (28), for failure to comply with district standards and health protocols to combat covid-19.

The inspection, which included representatives of the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT), in a joint operation with government agencies, visited a total of 12 establishments, between 7pm on Monday and 2am this morning (1).

The coordinator of the MPDFT task force, Eduardo Sabo, and the prosecutor Hiza Carpina followed the operation, which went through Asa Sul, Asa Norte, Central Area of ​​Brasília, Cruzeiro, Sudoeste, Octogonal and Varjão.

In the Graphic Industries Sector, a bar was closed due to lack of documentation. In the North Supply and Storage Sector (SAAN), two party houses were closed due to entrance fees, promotion of crowding and lack of documentation, the same reason for the closing of a bar in the Official Garages Sector (SGO).

The government authorities were also present at the Galeria dos Estados, in the central area of ​​Brasília, where they acted to disperse a carnival block, with the authorities responsible and the seizure of musical instruments. A bar in the Southwest and one in the North Public Recreation Sector (SRPN) were also fined for using hookah.
